The Arts

Students are encouraged to have a love of the arts and express their creativity and talents through extracurricular activities throughout the school year.

The sound of singing is back at Rockwood Public School and we are pleased to once again have a choir. Students in Grades 5 to 8 who wish to participate are welcome to come and sing with Mrs. Trautrim on announced practices. We perform at special events such as Remembrance Day, holiday assembly, and at our year end concert in June.

We are very excited to introduce Rockwood's first ever concert band!  Interested Grade 7 and 8 students have been busy practicing with our new wind and percussion instruments and demonstrating all that we have learned in class so far. Ms. Buelow directs our school band. We are hoping to perform at our year end concert.

Bell Choir

Handbells, while almost completely unheard of in some areas, are a unique instrument to play and offer a unique musical and visual experience for people of all ages to enjoy. They can be played in choirs, or even as a solo instrument and require using techniques that are not used on any other instrument.  RPS is very lucky to have such an impressive group directed by Ms. Buelow.
