Principal’s Message: Ms Deb Taylor
Welcome to Rockwood Public School— a safe, caring place to learn and grow. Rockwood is a vibrant and inclusive community of approximately 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, offering both the English Program and Extended French beginning in Grade 4. Nestled in the scenic beauty of Pembroke, our school values strong relationships among students, staff, families, and community partners, ensuring that every learner is seen, heard, and valued as they “make their mark” this year.
We are committed to academic excellence through data-driven instruction. Early literacy and numeracy screenings from Kindergarten to Grade 2 help us identify student strengths and next steps, allowing us to respond quickly with targeted supports. Our dedicated Special Education Resource Teachers work to close learning gaps and ensure that all students have access to equitable, responsive, and meaningful learning pathways.
Guided by the Renfrew County District School Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan, we centre our work on excellence in learning, equity, and well-being. Rockwood strives to provide an identity-affirming environment that respects all cultures, upholds Indigenous rights, and supports mental health while championing equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression. Together with caregivers and our community, we are committed to nurturing resilient, confident learners prepared for lifelong success.
